I have numerous resolutions this year.. weight.. exercise.. clean house.. ect. I read this quote again and decided to add being less superficial to that long list as well.
"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

hope you are well my friend, i think of you each day:)
Thank you for posting this!! I have been thinking of the quote -- but couldn't remember it!
I posted it on my blog with a link back to you -- seriously, thank you!
Great quote! Never hurts to be reminded of what is really important.
Love it. I want a plaque of that to hang on my wall.
I think we can all relate to that. It seems that we get caught up in the materialistic parts of our lives too often. I am going to print that and put it somewhere that I will see it all the time and be reminded of the woman I want, and in turn don't want to be.
